one box ( thick pads ) sayd front pads/ im not sure if they are or not, it some box i have gotten with a car

can some one tell what the differnce is and why

What the pin for in the pad, I realize that it goes in the slot of the piston.can I put the skinny ones on the back with out the pin.? Just askingmanoa matt wrote:The thicker pads are fronts. The thinner pads are also fronts, but may be for a different application/car. If you install them, the caliper piston will be further out and the chance of the pads wearing unevenly or not seating properly will be increased.
