Can I stack carb spacers?

Post by bbuckl »

I am in the middle of an engine refresh and I am swapping out the dual plane intake for a single plane. I have one 12mm spacer for the carb, but I was thinking 2 would give me more room to work and maybe a little more low end grunt.

Can I stack them or am I setting myself up for leaks?

Thanks,
Brian

1979? What carb and intake are you using? Any potential for hood clearence issues?

If you have the single plane intake you can easily go .5 inch or more. Easy way to check how close you are to the hood is to loosely crumple some aluminum foil, place on top of air cleaner, close then open hood, see how much it is depressed.
