Performance benchmarking

Post by Nut124 »

I have been tweaking the jetting, new 44IDFs, on my 1800 since rebuilding the engine last year. The car is starting to run good although rich on the idle circuit.

Ran 15.66s 1/4 mile @ 85.8mph on a Dragy GPS device today. 55F.

This is 0.1 sec and 1 mph faster than at a real 1/4mi strip last fall.

-78 1800, Dual 44IDFs, header, 40-80 cams, 2L head, head work, 10.5CR, LSD.

I believe the cams are limiting power. I have bigger cams waiting for installation, been lazy.

Just ran mine with a random GPS app (so who knows the accuracy). My engine/carb is stock ‘78 1800. 0-60mph 12.6. 1/4 mile 19.0 at 71 mph. Just a touch slower than she was 43 years ago.

Bender, as long as you can pass MGBs, Triumph Spitfires, and the occasional poorly-tuned Porsche 914, all is good! :D

Haha and the smile in my face. I’m happy with it as I don’t want to be tuning and messing with it. I like that I turn the key and it runs with no issues. Feels great driving even at highway speeds.
