IDF 40 mixture screw does nothing.

Post by TulsaSpider »

I got my Spider out of the garage and was driving it and it developed a miss.
In trying to figure it out I have noticed that the forward mixture screw has no effect if I screw it all the way in or out. No change in idle.
Help.
Never mind. I figured It out. Idle jet was blocked
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

Sounds like IDFs. No other carburetor ever made has such frequency of blocked this and leaking that. Glad you found it.

Unlike IDFs you only need to know how to use a screwdriver and a wrench to get single carbs to work. And the performance is at least as good, if not better.
