Whats your compression? I like the sounds of the carbs more but you would need one of the single-plane intakes to make a carb worthwhile, performance wise they are probably pretty close but an electronic ignition will help get the best of both if you dont already have. Your original carb sucks; I had a 34dms but sold it last year, it was quite a good carb.

I have the FI 2L. I found the real wake up in my engine was the instalation of cams(Marks 274 FI cams) and adjustable cam wheels to get them dialed in correctly. I have had stock engine and head, oversized pistons & stock head, oversize pistons and massaged 1800 head(stock cams),Now oversized pistons and massaged 2LFI head with 274 cams... the best set-up yet. I also have headers and 2"exhaust, but some will argue the stock 4-2-1 manifold works well. Stock injectors and ignition.
I have not driven a car with the 32/36 but many love the upgrade over their stock carb.

well what a great day
i got my spacer today and in an hour she was good to go. i bolted down the new carb pluged a few lines, hooked up the fuel line assembled the air filter put in the battery, got 2 gallons of premium and turned it over but i had the tank empty
all winter,so no fuel in the lines ot start. anyway cranked it till it died charged it untill it died again. waited 3 min without a charge, turned it over and it stoped.so one last charge and zoom she ran! it was at 3000 so i unhooked the linkage and
re bent my throttle control bar so it was relaxed and then it was at 1500

and down the road i went,i have a video im trying to post
you can hear the exhaust because i drive it like i stole it
