Hello all, so im finally posting my build after lurking on the forums for a while. I will post pictures this weekend when I go home from my apt at college.
Started off with a 1975 spider that was pretty trashed except for a very straight body and minimal rust. It was painted and driven for a while untouched until it kept overheating and leaking oil from every possible gasket. At this point I parked it and pulled the engine and began the rebuild of the car.
engine/drive-train-
bored out .4mm
balanced crank, con rods, pistons, pulley and flywheel
vicks high comp 4 mm dome pistons
IAP billet performance cams
IAP 4-2-1 header
machined head and new guides and cleaned valves
polished crank
new clutch
dual Weber DCNF 42~~~ hopefully will be changed to dual idf's
suspension-
Plated crossmember
new control arm bushings
new sway bar bushings
new balljoints
cut springs~~~ hopefully to be changed out for lowering springs
At this point I have some finishing touches on the engine before I put it back in, and dealing with the wiring which is a mess on this car. I cant find a good wiring diagram for the 1975 which has some slight differences compared to the good and clear 1974 and 76 wiring diagrams that I found off of artigue.com.
anyways thats all and pictures of the whole car will be up soon but here is one off my phone

Nice build! The motor looks damn nice. Don't count out the DCNF carbs. Despite their orientation, I know some 124 people swear by them.

It will scream
How many coils did you cut the springs? I ask, because 2 coils is too much
I did that to my first Spider, and the a-arms touched the bump stops. Not good...

Re: 1975 124 Spider build
I haven't cut the coils yet, but i was thinking 1/1/2 front and 2 in the rear. I still have to do some research to see what will work for me. I am looking for a pretty low stance like this one. Also does anyone know where I can find a front spoiler/ air dam like this.

That one is by So Cal Mark. You can go to Allison's Automotive to get it too.

Hi cr250rgio, I too have a yellow '75 with dual DCNFs! If you are willing to sell the carbs and/or manifold, let me know. I could use spares. Looking forward to more progress and pictures!
Re: 1975 124 Spider build
I can't tell by the photos but you are going to need adjustable cam pullies to dial in the IAP cams properly.
Jason at Millers Mule sells them.

Re: 1975 124 Spider build
Just got done with school so here are some updates on the car
The motor is in the car and runs just need to tune the carbs, throw a carb spacer in there, and install the adjustable cam pulleys. Its so close i'm going crazy, the wiring is definitely a nightmare even after getting a service manual with the schematics blown up. There isn't much left to do but its a lot of little things adding up.
