Smog pump? newbie help!

I am sure this is a newbie question so please understand. I just got a 75' that has been sitting and am in the process of flushing fuel tank, changing fluids belts ect. I have read on forum the importance of the timing belt and that the smog pump if frozen can be BAD! How do you bypass the pump? do I need different belts? whats the best way to do it? I am to mechanical so please help me understand process

to my knowledge, your smog pump is on a belt of its own. simply remove the belt.

it is an individual belt, simply remove it and leave it off unless you have to undergo emission inspections
