Carb Decisions

Currently working on a ‘74 and im about a week of work out from her first fire up, just have to get carbs situated. A buddy of mine gave me a pair of Dual 40 DCOE’s for free ,however, I’m afraid running a dual side draft won’t work with the lack of space on that side of the engine bay. I’m aware of the custom manifold out there, my main concern is getting them to fit. I’m wondering if I’m better off getting 40 IDFS in hopes of them fitting better. Does anyone have experience with this? I assume some alterations to the braking system would have to be made in order to accommodate the 40 DCOE size. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!
