Oil or Gas shocks

Hello all,

Converting a US spec car to early bumpers and overhauling the suspension and brakes at the same time.

Getting springs in the UK is a bit limited tbh, I can get Spax coils, but there is no specific suspension kit listed for a Spider. We did have the Coupe here, but not the spider. This kit is listed for the Coupe, but I presume its the same (just looking into curb-weights to see if they are close). This kit is Gas, but have read that gas shocks are not ideal for these cars.

So the question is, do I buy the kit with gas, or just the springs alone and new quality oil shocks?

Id import from the sates or germany, But shipping and import taxes really hike up the prices. Spax is Uk based and free postage
