I figured the hole would be your overflow when you fill it from the top so it would be no differnce, or am I wrong
I put in gl1 oil
I assume the rear pumpkin will take the same
Please correct me if I am wrong

Thanks a million, for the feedback , I will change ithayesbd wrote:The rear axle has a hypoid gear set which means that there is a lot of sliding contact between the gear teeth. This type of gear set requires a gear oil with "extreme pressure" or EP additives in order to not wear out quickly. Look for a gear lube that shows GL-5 on its label. The most commonly available oil for this in the parts stores is 80W90 and I recommend that instead of looking for the original single viscosity 90-weight variety.
If you have already put GL-1 in the rear axle, change it right away - you will damage it.
