Wire ID 1980 Spider 2000

Post by sigkadetm »

I have three wires located on the drivers side rear floor pan under the carpet. One wire is green and yellow. The other two are together pink/black and the other one is white/black. Maybe seat belts? I have wires coming out of the short seat belts too. I would like to wire them the way they were from the factory. Trying to restore the car to the original specs. Does any one know how to wire them up properly, I don't see it on the wiring diagram I have. Or know what they go to.

Depending on what year your Spider is, they are most likely the wires for the seat belt interlock system. Wires were routed to the seat belt lock and to pressure switches in the seat bottom. Most Spiders have had this system bypassed. My Spider had this system bypassed by the Fiat dealership in 1975 after it stranded my father on the side of the interstate - he was not happy when the car cut out for no reason in the middle of a rush hour commute :) .
