Electrical Issue Steering wiring harness

Post by Doug12 »

Hi Folks; Doug here again up here in Maine. I have a dilemia with the purchase of an aftermarket steering wheel wiring harness for my early 1970 fiat spider. This is the one for the windshield wiper, lights and directionals. The original steering wheel fits to tight when it's all put back together. The controls for the dirctional lights become almost inoperable. Then when I loosen it up slightly so the steering wheel has to much play in it so the directionals work again the wiring for the low beam burns out , then I have to replace the wiring in the harness. This has happened twice now. Any ideas. Many Thanks! Doug in Maine

the early wheel and combination switch have to be matched together, they aren't compatible with the later pieces. If you use a later combi switch you'll need the right steering wheel for it

I have an assembly from a 72 that would work. PM me if you're interested.
