Fiat88; I hadn't planned on taking orders, I just thought I'd rather try to make a wooden one than try to find a replacement plastic one. This one is my first attempt and has already been replaced. It is made of poplar and I had to reglue it because it cracked on one side during test fitting. I've made another one out of oak that is stronger, it just doesn't match the grain on my cup holder as well. Guess I'll have to make an oak cup holder.
I want to see how it holds up before I decide to make them for other people.
Zippy; It's not green wood, so it should hold up well. Only time will tell. It's a very snug fit, but now that I have it sorted out I'll use a touch of glue to hold it securely.
BTW, MNspiderman, thanks for the compliment. I've seen your work, so I consider it high praise.
The oak one;
