alternate mirror locations

Post by manoa matt »

Has anyone tried to do a dash mount rear view mirror like the old sports cars, or how about placing the side view mirrors more forward on the body(the fenders). I like the look of the mid 50's to 60's Ferrari's (250 GT) I'd love to see some pictures if anybody has any.

By the way, I bet you didn't know that the Ferrari 250 GT California that was used in Ferris Buller's day off was actually a kit car built on a MG frame. Ferrari tried to sue the producers for mis-representation.

I've seen the dash mount mirror before. Looked out of place to me, but that's just a matter of opinion.

Yeah, I think it looks out of place:

MD, The mirror looks great, but not as good as the wood custom dash! tell more about the dash, please. Matt, Mirrors on fenders look good, but Id rather be able to see well. 8)

I wish I could take credit for that awsome dash, but truth be known, I have no idea who's car this is. I just keep the picture to drool over every now and then.

Man, what I nice dash! That's some great woodwork. And you notice the trim piece on the door panel and ash tray. Nice touch!

It's a German Spider. I've done the wood door strip, as well as replacing the chrome armrest trim with wood as well. I will do the ashtray cover too. I LOVE that dash!

show us a pic of yours, Gerard.
Did you notice there is a map pocket in place of the chromed plastic door trim?

We'll finally have the first decent weather in months this w/e, Denise. I'll drag the Spider out, take a pic and post.
