Courtesy Light Switch Broken 1981

Five minutes after owning my 1981 I tried to persuade the courtesy light to come on as I had done when inspecting the car. The little black switch lever broke loose. It still pivots back and forth, but it seems unconnected to anything.

1. Do I have to remove the console to get the whole light unit out?
2. Can I get a replacement anywhere? I can't seem to find what I need anywhere.

It's not much of a light, at least this one was dim and didnt really shine anyplace useful, but when it is the only one you have, it might be missed.
