Turn Signals

Post by adrians »

I've just noticed that my right hand turn signal - blinks once on the dashboard indictor then stops, however the external lights front and rear continues to work ok ?

Is the flasher unit on the way out or a bad earth under the dash somewhere !

I had that very problem with my '82. I redid the grounds in the engine bay, and also found that when I put the new radio in one of the wires to the emergency flasher unit had come loose. On the '82's the turn signals run through this switch. The combination of sorting those two things fixed the problem.

Thanks John,

It's been 12 months since I pulled the dashboard apart, so it's about time I had that enjoyment again !

I have in the past replaced both the emergency flasher unit and the stereo unit, so something may of come apart/loose since then.
