wheel spacers

I bought a set of wheel spacers off of ebay and ran into a problem. If it is much of a problem I don't know. There are guide pins on the wheel, and the spacers don't fit flush. Can I remove these and how. They look like they are attached with a nut but can't budge them. Is there a way to remove these? Thanks in advance.

the guide pins screw out like any other bolt, counterclockwise. They use a 12mm socket
