Fuse panel upgrade??

Post by fiatjack »

How big a task is upgrading the fuse panel to a more modern blade style fuse box??

I've never done this, but I have heard of people doing it. Not a terrible task, but just be sure to take good notes of how all the wires are connected to the fuse box.

A question though: I have taken out the original fuse box and cleaned all the connectors with Brasso or the like, bent the contacts so that they make firm contact with the fuses, etc. Have you considered this? The original is pretty reliable if all the contacts are good.

I have used this fuse panel in a number of Fiats. The fuses themselves aren't the best quality or correct values for a Fiat Spider. I replace the fuses with US brand. The panel is easily modified to replicate the fiat panel and has one extra fuse position if needed.

Even though there are 13 fuses the over all size is a little smaller than the original Fiat panel so some adapting is needed to mount in the original mounting location.
