1980 124 transmission fill plug question

There is conflicting information on which is the correct fill plug on the 5 speed transmission. I found a manual which states it's the bottom of the two side bolts on the passenger side of the transmission is the fill plug and some which states it's the top plug. I have attached a picture to clarify which one is it ?

It is the lower of the two in your picture labeled #2. There is a small drain plug on the solid housing towards the back of the car about six inches from the main drain pan plug on the passenger side that can be used to drain some old oil as well. If you have a car on ramps when changing transmission oil the oil will flow down to that cavity when filling.

Just in case you're curious, the upper "plug" (labeled #1 in your picture) was an electrical switch associated with early emission control systems, used in the earlier model years. The switch was engaged in certain gears, but with the fuel injection cars it was no longer needed so it was replaced with a blank plug.
