Done! Thanks Mike. Just got the door remounted. It wasn't too bad getting it lined up again. Sadlly, the paint needs to be touched up.

Thumbs up on the tutorial. For newbies, knowing the road has been traveled before and the solution is very helpful.

that is the whole point behind the tutorials... letting others know that something can be done to save an otherwise gem of a car. We need to conserve our dwindling parts supply, especially the non-replaceable body parts.

anyways i just discovered that annoying and dreaded SDDS "slacking drivers door syndrome" actually i am fortunate in that i caught it in its more nacent stage, just when the door hangs up a bit on opening as oppossed to sparks shooting whilst driving down the Freeway. So i will have to put Mike's kindly constructed fix it document to the test, will be visiting the Fiat doctor this Wed. to see what his thoughts are on carrying out the surgery. Good news is that the other door looks visually sound.............but what lies beneath is the question????????????? Will get some pics and update as things progress.

Bob, the expired link is to FLU, which is Fiat Lancia Unlimited, which later became Fiat Club of America. There is a chapter in Detroit, and my guess is that Mike Bouse is still active in that, or you could contact the chapter and they might have a copy. http://fiatdetroit.weebly.com/

Mike Bouse was active on mirafiori.com, but not since 2018. Not that it helps to locate him, but his address was listed as Coldwater, Michigan.

He's also famous for the "Michigan Short Shifter", a custom shift lever.
