Rear Quarter Window Assembly Help

Post by Bills80 »

I'm in the final stages of a 2 1/2 yr total restoration and my MS Surface dies with ALL of the tear down and restoration pictures. I need help with the rear 1/4 window assembly. If any one would be willing to take 10-12 pictures of that window and the associated trim around it I would be ecstatic.

This is what I'm looking for specifically:
vertical trim in front of window- does it go behind the horizontal trim or in front?
Bottom channel gasket- I'll assume the long leg is to the outside of the car?
How is the flap attached?
I'll assume the plain U shaped gasket goes along the top channel?
Does regular window felt go into the chrome trim along the glass? If that is true how does that interact with the long leg of the bottom channel glass gasket?

What is the best method of installing the glass? Put gaskets in then hammer the glass home or put the gaskets on the glass first? Since the top glass gasket is barely seen I would consider partially filling the top channel with black silicone then trim it off when dry.

If you can send pics taylor.bill52@gmail.com

Thanks
Bill
