degreasing a bit

Post by Nicketts »

Hello friends. Got a 4-day weekend coming up and thinking about degreasing engine. Anybody care to tell me which electrical components need to be covered up? I know distributor, but what else? If you advise, maybe tell me where it is or what it looks like. Not a great mechanic here, have done some stuff but have been pretty lucky with this car, going on 5 years. Any advice appreciated. Many thanks.

I wouldn't let that stuff get inside the alternator, could damage the windings, etc.

Thanks friends. The video was helpful although I’m taking it slowly, a bit at a time—time for chores like this hard to find as still working. On the bright side, had timing belt replaced last year. This year, my five year cold starting problem seems to have improved—working as it should now. I have Brads book and have tried to fix/clean in the past with no real luck, but running like a champ now. Now to remove the crooked date sticker the garage put on the belt housing. They meant well...
