Seeking advice on wooden dashboard inserts

I had my wooden dashboard panels restored, and I am already scuffing the finish around the glove box, and yes my nails are trimmed . I can thank my girlfriend who occupies the passenger seat and clearly operating the glove box as well Are there any products you guys can recommend or have had success using in achieving a durable finish on your dash inserts? Any quick fix ideas? Thanks guys

Try a small can of matte "Wipe On Poly" (the cabinetmakers secret) from Home Depot or elsewhere, wipe on with a clean, lint free cloth. Dries very quickly.

We tend to brush on the heavier early layers using the canned finish of regular poly (I like the "oil modified"), then level it with 220, etc, and use the Wipe-On as a finish layer. Works great, less labor.
