Boot pattern

Post by PaulC »

Anyone know of a pattern for the top boot?
I'm thinking of making one myself but would like a pattern if possible to follow.

Don’t know of a pattern, but what about disassembling one that’s in rough shape and creating a pattern from the pieces.

Sounds good. I'll post a wanted poster in the wanted section.

Pretty sure there is a link to download a template somewhere? I tried to find it, but didn't have any luck. If you search trunk floor or trunk template, you will find a great number of posts on the topic.

Nope, this is for the other boot, the one that covers the top when it's folded down. :D
Probably should have said convertible top storage boot for the non-US members.

C. Obert has a used boot for $123.50 which will need the two plastic hooks for the front corners and the two rubber straps for tying it down over the seat back but includes the two metal hooks/boomerangs:

If you make it you will also need these parts if you do not already have them and new they can get quite expensive so if you can find a used boot as a pattern that includes even just the two metal hooks, that can result in a savings of about $100 in parts:

Two front plastic hooks a left and a right at about $30 to $40 each:

Two rubber hold down straps at about $15 each:

Two metal boot hooks/boomerangs a left and a right at about $40 to $60 each:
