I'm just coming into 124 Spider ownership after seeing the Abarth cars on the RAC Rally back in the 1970's.
I was rallying for 16 years myself, from '76 to '92, when the kids got too expensive....
I'm a long - term classic car owner since the early 90's, restoring allsorts, MGB's, MGA Coupe, Lotus Elan, several early 911's, a Cobra 289 Replica, a Ginetta G4, and over the last 10 years, heavily into Alfa Romeo. Last two have been a '69 Giulia GTA Replica with an all GRP panelled outer body, and currently a '63 Giulia Ti Super Replica, which is a real keeper. Attached a pic of the giulia, and the Spider.
The Spider will gradually morph into an Abarth Replica, in the later colours of the Works rally cars.
