Windshield Adjustment?

Post by Frog2Spider »

Can the windshield assembly, on a ‘81 Spider, be adjusted to even the gaps in the corners where the fenders meet the windshield frame? Are shims used to even these gaps or ‘is it what it is’?

To my knowledge the frame only moves back and forth to adjust for door fitment and hood alignment. the fenders can be adjusted. you just have to cut and weld :D but don't try and get the gaps to a minimum the front fenders move a lot on rough roads and can chip the paint if they touch.

Yes, shim where originally used to adjust gaps, they were circular washers with a slot cut out for easy add or removal.
