Steering

Whilst I had the engine out and suspension off on my 1974 Spider, I thought I would replace all of the steering components. I managed to get a centre link with the correct part number. However it doesn’t have the bend in the middle like the one I took off. Is this correct?

For the track rod ends it has been a nightmare trying to get the correct one here in the U.K. Not all suppliers give the part number so can anyone give me the correct Delphi part number for them? I know one is left hand thread and the other right hand on each side but are they M14 thread?

this was direct replacement for mine
for the tie rods: I just got whole new ones: easier and my center sleeves were bad.

Thanks for the comments and sorry for my (very) late reply.

It was from an earlier Spider so I will have to get a later one.

On a related issue, as the tie-rod arms have been off the car I can't remember which end is which. The parts I have are OEM ones so the part number isn't helping. One tie rod end is slightly higher but I can't tell if it's the one that connects to the steering arm or the centre? Any ideas??

The tie rods should be the same on either end. the new set I used were symmetric.
Also measure the length from center of each tie rod end and set your new ones to that length. makes the alignment process easier.
not sure it matters if slightly different, just make sure the sleeve clamp is in a position (clocked) that it does not interfere with the A-arm bolt: just turn wheel each way and check clearance. Easy with car still on stands.
