Top Boot

Post by johndemar »

My original top boot is rotting around the snaps and I'm debating what to to about it.

There are a number of leather and saddle shops in the area that may be able to reinforce it, or just break down and buy new one from one of the vendors.

I'd kind of like to keep the original just because, well, it is original. Anyone have experience repairing these, or are pleased with what the vendors offer?

Consider repairing your OE boot. Some suggestions:

My wife got me a new one for Christmas. I also have the original that I didn't want to part with, however it had been 'fixed' a couple of times, and very much showed its age. She got the new one from Ricambi, and it is awesome! Made with very heavy duty vinyl and 'original' looking in every way, except its new! ($236.00)

Took it to a leather shop yesterday. They will reinforce all the stress points on the boot for $45.

A bargain if it works. They seemed confident they can do it, so here's hoping.
