shocks

Post by geospider »

I've read where the hydraulic shocks can lock up when the car has been sitting for a while.
mine was sitting for about 3 years. how do you know/what would you feel if this is the case?

generally drives OK, but can seem to jump right or left with a bump in road: can feel through the steering wheel. I am going to replace all bushing, ball jts.

thought?

You should be able to push down on any corner of the car and have it rebound smoothly back up. I'd be suspicious of any corner that doesn't do this. If I was replacing all the bushings, ball joints, etc, I'd replace the shocks (they'll be out anyway), unless I knew their full heritage.

hard to believe the Tire Rack seems t have the best price on the Koni yellows: $104 per plus a $50 rebate.
from what I have read, that's about as good as you will find.
since I am planning on doing ALL the rest of the suspension, this should happen too.

Just checked it out on tire rack and am confused. Details say max rebate is $70, but nothing about minimum purchase requirement. Wonder if you can get a $50 rebate on one and have friends and family order the other 3???

The $50 rebate is directly from Koni for purchasing four individual shocks from the Sport series with part prefix 80. It's Koni's promotion running through the end of May. Looks like Summit and Tire Rack have the same price.
