Filling in rectangle front holes on bumperless car

Hey guys,

I know some people have put a steel mesh or similar materials to fill in the rectangular holes. Looking behind there I don't see anything to fasten material to. Any tips on what's already been done would be great!

On Wheeler Dealers, Edd China did something similar to a Caterham when he cut an air intake in the side of the hood. I believe he glued the mesh to the inside of the hood, but I'm not sure what adhesive he used.

I had considered adhesive, but ideally I'd like it to be reversible and easily removable. I do like the idea of having mesh and air channels behind to funnel cold air to the carb

I used a filter from a range vent hood and cut to size. Then I used a bit of silicone to attach. The filter only cost about $10 if I need to replace.

When I still had them (now welded up), I used a pair of Camaro (I think) air intakes that were intended for fitting in light buckets. They were rectangular (not that the holes are perfectly!) and had a 2.5" round fittings on the back.

on the high end cars they have cornering lights that come on "and don't flash "with turn signals,to light up your way

I made sheet metal blanks to fill them in. I MIG welded them in and ground the area smooth ..very little filler and done.

Filled them in by welding flanged plates into the holes. Did the same with the side-lights front and rear.
