Any ideas what could I do to make this dash look better?

What can I do to fix this, or how can I make it look better? I hate that gap, I wish the rubber gasket was bigger so it could go over it and hide it.

Is that an original dash, or has it been capped? It looks in pretty good condition otherwise.

The entire dash is held in place with a couple of fasteners, and there is some wiggle room during installation. But it requires a very lithe and limber person lying on his back with a helper above. A most difficult and uncomfortable process.

As far as I know it is the original dash. Just trying to fix that gap. Or hide it.

A dash carpet covers it all with little effort and protects the dash at the same time.

the right side of the dash is held in place with a wing nut behind the back left corner of the glove box. There is a cut out there for access, but is worthless. The issue is the back of the dash has curled up, so not sure adjusting the location will do the job. You might consider some black plastic sheeting, like 1/16" thick and cut to shape to fit between the back of the dash and the rubber seal. You would need to cut away the curl on the dash to get it to lay down right. A cleaner look than dash carpet, but a lot of work to get it to look right.

How about a cap? The one I got was plenty deep enough.

look thru MR GASKET and find a wider t shaped rubber gasket to push in between the rubber gasket and your dash.
i seen a vendor at a county fair that sells rubber in all shapes.i tryed to find him online with no avail.

or if you pull the dash you may be able to use a heat gun and straighten the dash out
