replaced brake servo/booster

Hi there,
So, I completed changing out my brake servo and master cylinder. Bit of a PITA getting the servo out. Lining up the valve control rod to get the pin through the pedal was a b atch! So here's may question (slightly embarrassing). After completing all the above, I noticed the foam rubber seal that goes between the firewall and mounting plate was under my desk! . How important is this? It's not shown the shop manual so hoping I can avoid pulling thinsg apart again. Thanks,

Hi,

I think unfortunetly that you will have to remove the booster again to put the seal. It keeps the hole sealed properly and was added for a reason. I changed my booster a month ago and had to install and reinstall it 3 times and the last time was because of that very ring.

Keeps fumes out of the cabin and vibration out of the booster?
