Spoiler options?

Post by FlyingToaster »

Has anyone seen or made a low profile rear spoiler for the 124? I am doing a bunch of body work and mods to my '72 right now and am considering a trunk spoiler. (Similar to a late 80's vw Jetta or I'd even consider a period correct lip spoiler). Thanks. -John

I suppose you could look at the Mazda Miata Spoilers if you are only looking for a small flare up. Personally, unless you are tracking the car with some significant modifications, I'm not sure you will gain any measurable down force. Might look pretty cool as long as you do not hop it up with aluminum connections into a wing type spoiler  . The 72 has a great shape!
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

IMHO, the appeal of the 124 Spider is in its clean lines and elegant simplicity. I've never been a fan of add-on spoilers. Unless you have some specific, calculated performance reason, why ruin the beauty of this car?

Midwest Bayless has a duck-butt style spoiler available for the 124 Spider:

I believe GtrittRacing still has them available, just spoke with them and order their front light kit and plugs
