That would be great if it has a double bump hood. I don't think any of the renderings have included that design cue

Any chance she can do something about the dealers?

Fiat 124 Spider: new spy photos

Fiat 124 Spider - New spy photos show the two-seater open top with the top down.
2 places and not 2+2
It isn't designed by Pininfarina and then the "original" will remain unsurpassed.

Certainly doesn't look bad, but I was hoping for a more curvacious side profile. Either a more pronounced rear hip or a better curve on the front fender

It's also tough to see on a black/black car, but the front grille looks nicely shaped with cues from the original

Pininfarina, a man among men, the unique, unrepeatable. I wonder how he would have designed. There is no harmony between the front (nice) and rear.
Let's keep tight our beautiful spider ...........

Stance from the side it not that impressive. I'd like to see what the car looks like from some more angles. Like many, the jalopnik photo is of an automatic, C'mon man, give me a nice six speed.

I recon the models being used for this particular photo shoot dont drive stick. And Id certainly find it hard to believe that a 6 speed is not in the works. But like with most cars, the new 124 is desinged for a mass market (not us stoggy old folks) so there will likely be more automatics on the road than sticks.

The latest I have heard is that the new 124 will be fitted with a European verson of the 1750 (a la Alfa Romeo) which has a cast iron bottom end.

In any case, this is the future of the 124 Spider legacy, so lets hope they get it right..... Im betting they will.

I see one tradition being carried on; raising the top by twisting in the front seat, maybe the new cars will come with the "gansta lean" built in

IF that's the final version, it's simply not worth entangling with FCA's criminal dealer network.

This is going to be a hard sell I'm afraid if this is the final version. If it looks too much like a miata then I'm sure the masses would prefer dealing with Mazda for repairs/warranty over fiat/Chrysler. I'm still hoping this is just a mock up and not the final production unit. Why even bother labeling it a 124. More like a 125.

Not wild at all about the rear side view. Front looks pretty sweet tho.

Guess it would be hard to have the rounded wing with the big ass integral bumpers. Cant wait to see it in person.
