Turn signal and brake light issue

Post by tonyfromjersey »

Here's a new one I just found when working through the car. The left signal works fine, but when I turn right, the taillight and turn signal light take turns flashing. Is this a wiring problem, or what could cause this?

First, ( and this applies to all car systems on your Fiat ) check and clean the grounds!

it's definitely a bad ground on the right light

Thanks. I guess I just pull off the back panel, inside the trunk, and follow the wiring, or is there an easier way?

There should be a ground at the taillamp and may also be a ground at the rear side marker lamp. Electrical gremlins live in Fiats. I can't stress enough how important it is to kill these critters when you catch a glimpse of them!
