Courtesys light

Hello,
Can anyone tell me what order the three wires go in for the courtesy light? There are three lugs on the light, two together and one on the other end. I just need the order the three wires go in. I can get the the light to go on when the door opens but I cannot turn the light on when I am in the car with the doors closed with the switch. I would appreciate any help.

red/black wire goes by itself on one side. The black and black/violet wires go on the same side.
You might have to swap the black and black/violet to get it to work correctly, but leave the other wire alone.
