Cold air intake with filter box

I have been working on my cold air intake and filter box for my IDF 44 set up.
I started with a scoop in my lower valance.



I needed to bring it around the outside since I will have fog lights behind my grill right in front of the normal intake hole.
I will have a connecting hose between my scoop and a box I have made in the drivers fender well.



Then I went about building a box on the inside of the fender to house a readily available paper filter. I put a screen on to stop small animals.






Got everything painted over the weekend




And dropped the lid on for a picture!

I'm in no rush, it will be awesome when it done, I can't wait,but great work will take a lot of time,
Just as we both know your after mine is done lol
The engine,suspension , parts and labor will add up up, he might be end up owning the car hahahaha

I suspect that filter arrangement would become completely saturated when driving in the rain. Most filter assemblies using that style filter have it horizontal, not vertical, with a "rain drain" in the base of the plenum.

Yep, I have considered that and my inlet tube from the fender well points to the very rear of the filter box. I think you are right if I drove in a constant downpour but I am hoping things will be ok since I don't drive my spiders in the rain. I have debated a water drain hole but want to see how it works first. I can always add one later. Thanks for the input!!
