...not exactly answering the last question - if I park Piccolina in a strange area (sometimes you have to) I take the long wire between coil and distributor with me.... easy to unplug-replug and this will get the thief into trouble, I don't think any thief carries such a wire .... doesn't protect from towing the car away, sure.
The battery-knobs are more difficult to use in the later model spiders as the battery is in the trunk.
