Wheel Offset

Hi folks. I have a question on Wheel Offset? What is it? How can I measure it? I am looking at a set of 15"x6" rims with a 24mm offset. Will they fit my 79' Fiat Spider? Also, I am interested in the Panasport Rims but they are quite expensive. Anyone know where to find a used set?

also, I was wondering if our wheels are hub-centric (they sure look like it). Anybody know the size of the hub so that when I get spacers made to fit my Aerio wheels it will all be Kosher?

Panasports for Fiats aren't easy to find used. You can try posting an ad at mirafiori.com or you might even have some luck contacting Bill McMahan. He has a set he was using on his E-Production 124. Not sure if he wants to sell or not but you could always ask:

I was cruising on the International Auto Parts website at http://www.international-auto.com the other day, and found that they have a technical bulletin section - one of the ones I read was about wheel offset - it had diagrams and explanation - good luck - hope this helps.

Thanks for all of your help. I went to a couple of websites that you listed and now I consider myself an expert on wheel offset

I am considering the Speedline eight hole rims. They are 15x7" and were used on the supercharged volumex, (consulted many of my fiat books). Anybody running these rims? Did you have to do any special mods to the suspension???

hi Spyderjoe, if you will use 15"x7" you can use offset 28
that way the wheels will come out great but will not be out of the chassis
also you won't be needing any special modifications, i've used the same wheel size.
