I am going to start repairing my floors on my 1978 124. New panels don't offer enough metal to fill in all the space that needs replaced. I have a mig welder and was wondering if, when I go to replace the metal, should I just spot weld the metal in and fill the rest with an epoxy? Or should I try to weld the entire area in? Also should I overlap the panels when designing them? I do realize I should make more than one panel and join them together to add strength to the area. The rust even runs up the fire wall some.
