This is how I spent my cold afternoon.

I still have to hook up the throttle linkage, choke, oil breather etc.

Looks good! I thought your car was a 2L. I spent my afternoon cutting down a 60' tree and chopping it up. It is about the seventieth tree I cut. I have 15 to 20 more to go.

Noooo that is from the clever hands of the previous owner. I guess Fiat's solution was too simple. I just know this part is going to come back and haunt me.

Did you finally find all the parts you need? Can't wait to see what you think of those carbs. What kind of air cleaner are you going to run?

Brady, the valve covers are from a 79 spider.

Denise, still looking for a throttle bell crank, I bought some air cleaners from CB Performance, The oval chrome ones, around 2.5" high.

Hopefully if the weather cooperates I can start it next week. I'm still playing around with a Volvo 240 radiator conversion.

I installed a Volvo 240 radiator in my Lemons car that fit with a couple of modifications. It's a tad wider than our stock radiator. The one thing I would do is have a custom metal purge tank made that would fit where our overflow bottle sits. I used an electric fan I bought from Advanced Auto that cost about $70 that mounts to the radiator itself with plastic ties that go through the fins.

Hi Denis,

Funny you should bring up the width. The first time I did the conversion it was no problem fit wise. I bought the radiator from Rock Auto and it had plastic end tanks. This radiator I found off craigslist is all metal construction and is about 1/4 to wide. I slightly tapped the offending parts with a hammer and all is okay.

What did you do for a bottom and top mount?

We used the original lower support and made a mount for the top of the radiator. It may not be something you want to do with your Fiat since it requires drilling holes in the radiator support, but it's a nice stable install.
