The Vespa's starter died about 20-25 years ago. Every few years, I think about reviving it, and this may be the year. Now that Vespa is back in the US, parts should be readily available. There is a dealer about 30 minutes from here, but I'd like to try to fix it myself, first. I do have several manuals.
I assume the procedure is similar to reviving an old Fiat: first clean out the crap. Then replace the spark plug, cables, hoses (if any?). Then deal with the starter.
The gas tank presumably holds what used to be a mixture of 50-cent gas and 2-cycle Pennzoil.
My wife says I should put the Vespa in the dumpster, or have it crushed into a cube and put a glass tabletop on it. I'm hoping to get some more optimistic advice here.
