Sometimes I have problems to start my 1974 Spider. Usually it starts at once , but as I said sometimes nothing is happening at all . Well I can hear the fuel pump, all the lights is working , but nothing from the starter!!!!
Then I can wait for some time, or try 5-20 times, and suddenly it starts again.
Do anyone have the same problem, and what is the reason?
it could be a poor connection at the solenoid, or worn contacts inside the solenoid, or a worn ignition switch or a poor connection at the brown wire coming from the ignition switch. You need either a voltmeter or test light attached to the starter solenoid and check for voltage when the problem occurs
I forgot to tell that the problem only appears when I the engine is warm/hot. It never happen when I start the engine for the first time.
The problem is getting worse the last week . Maybe because the weather is warmer, I do not know.
