Will I fit??!
Will I fit??!
I'm planning to buy something 'different' later in the year, and have narrowed my search down to either an Alfa Spider, Fiat Spider or Triumph TR6...
Who can persuade me that the Fiat is best??!!
My first question though, is will I fit in I'm 6' 4" (1.94m) tall and not exactly skinny My legs are the main problem, as I find with a lot of cars they're up around my ears!
The Spider looks a lovely car, but there's not much point me getting excited about it if I can't get in...
Many thanks,
Andy

I know how you feel, sort of
Welcome to the 'community!'
You'll feel right at home in a spider. I'm 6'3 and find that the spider has plenty of room. I find it much more comfortable or comparable (in one or two cases...) than most cars I've driven including Chevy Corvette'79, Cavalier'83, Suburban'89, Malibu'05, Ford Focus'02, Mustang'04, Oldsmobile (forget model, but it was a boat)'01, Pontiac GrandPrix'01, Lexus LS300'9x, Chrysler PT Cruiser, BMW 325i'95, and last, but nowhere near comfortable, an uparmored Humvee.
The leg room is good. I can't speak for width though, I'm a stick. I wish I had some meat on the bones, but unfortunately I can't provide guidance in this area.

You'll find the TR6 uncomfortably narrow, and the driving position of the wheel is too vertical. Decent legroom though. I'm 6'1". The Spider is WAY more comfortable all around- not only in physical fit, but has better heater, brakes, etc. I think the TR6 is a great looking car, but it's built for drivers smaller than me...
I would love to own a TR-6 but, for it's old fashion feel and style. You can't beat a Fiat for comfort in a small roadster. I like the nice arm room as I have long arms. They are quite wider than the British stuff. I'm not hitting my elbows on the door and console all the time when I drive a Fiat. ...J.D.

Will I fit . . .
Andy -
Don't worry about fitting in the Fiat Spider. I enjoyed mine for years and I'm 6'-8" - 250 lbs. It's got plenty of leg room, and I could even drive with the top up if I laid the seat back a little. More fun with the top down of course.
Go for it.
