Wood in center dash

Post by fiatjack »

Are there any tips for re-installing the wood around the hazard switch in the middle of the dash? The PO of my 79 spider 2000 used red JB weld, now that its all cleaned off (huge PITA), they dont sit inside on their own. looking for any suggestions, glue, tape, etc? Thanks in advance

It is a bit tricky, and the issue is often that the center bezel has warped a bit and so those "slats" (boards) don't stay in place. If the bezel is flat, when it's pressed against the metal frame of the dash behind it, those slats should stay in place.

If not, perhaps install the slats with a small dab of silicone sealant on each corner before installing the center bezel?
