Exhaust manifold nut delete
So I’ve deleted most of my smog set up from my ‘79. One thing reminding—and giving me a hell of a time—is the return exhaust pipe that feeds from the exhaust manifold into the engine block. I’ve tried soacking it in W40/Blaster/Rustfree, you name it. It’s a 22 mm nut so there’s really not much space for such a big wrench to get the proper torque. I still have to apply a torch to it—which is probably my next move—but was hoping that someone here has a trick for it.

No trick.. that nut is STUCK.
I've read where some have just cut the pipe: pinch and weld..
I decided to block the passage where it bolts to the head; used a punch out from an elec box and a piece of gasket material. At least the pipe in under the manifold so you cant see it.. now, being in CA, I have to put it all back on once every 2 years.
