Mystery Wires after seat removal
Just curious if anyone knows what this pink/black and white/black wires are that I found disconnected under the seat of my 79 Spider are for. https://ibb.co/W03Z8dh

Re: Mystery Wires after seat removal
My money is on the wires that operate the "Fasten Seat Belt" light and chime. They were originally connected to the belt inertial reel unit.

Justin is right, it's for the "Fasten Seat Belt" light and/or buzzer. The pink/black wire goes eventually to the buzzer relay, and the white/black wire goes to the car body (ground). Very common to see these disconnected, and my understanding is that the buzzer sound is super annoying. There isn't such a switch on the passenger side.

Thanks guys, that's what I figured, considering the previous owner removed the seatbelt entirely. Just wanted to make sure.

Re: Mystery Wires after seat removal
I think on a 1979 Spider the wires connected to the seat belt receiver that attaches to the center drive shaft tunnel. There is a normally closed switch in the original receivers. When the seat belt is plugged into its receiver the switch opens turning off the seat belt warning light and chime. They were originally connected to the belt inertial reel unit.

I had not looked a the photo until I read Paul's post. I don't see a bolt hole for the seat belt receiver bolt in the driveshaft tunnel. I don't want to confuse anyone. I thought there would be a seat belt receiver bolt hole in the side of the tunnel.

The bolt hole is there, just zoom in to see it.
