What are the best simple mods for HP boost?

Who has had a good experience with engine mods on a 132A10406?
I am a subscriber to the "leave well-enough alone" school of thought, and my 78 Spider runs so well as is, but I'd like to milk just a bit more HP out of her.
I'm running with the stock 32 ADFA. Air pump removed, non-catalyst.
Simple tips and tricks for a little boost?

A lightened flywheel is a big bang for the buck, and doesn't muck with the engine's tuning at all.

I have always found that driving downhill with the wind pushing behind tends to help regardless of the car

bolting a 34adf carb on your current manifold is easy. Would make good power also.

I think MrJD pretty much nailed it. What kind of loot are you wanting to spend?
The upgraded carb I think is the quickest without pulling the engine, swapping cams, head work, ect.

The carb will increase your hp lighting the flywheel will allow the engine to rev faster but no hp gains I'd go
with the adf 34

au contraire, my 500 picked up 9hp upon installing the lightweight flywheel. Dyno comparisons were done before and after the swap

less hp needed to turn the flywheel means more to turn the wheels. Drivetrain loss and such.

The good thing about the flywheel mod is you are not mucking about with the engine, although you have to do some serious disassembly to install it.

On my 76 the 34ADFA, 4-2-1 Exhaust and the lightened flywheel were all big improvements.

How much work is it to swap the flywheel...and is the 1.8 flywheel the same as the 1.6? I am soon to be parting out a 74 (unless it has less rust than I suspect) and maybe I can keep the flywheel and have it lightened...

Your exhaust manifold is very restrictive. If you go to a larger carb I'd also get a 4-2 manifold from an earlier Spider, along with a downpipe:

Hey casaba, Do you have an idea of the before and after weight change on your lightened flywheels?

Light fly + aluminum pulley set... not a bad idea the more I think about it.

Also, did I read somewhere that your water pump is of a slightly different design than stock?
