Engine

Post by fiat218 »

Here the plan
My 69 fiat will have a new 2.0 installed someday
I got a plan to build up the 1608 , or build a 2.0 , now my thought is that it will be built to it limit,no exceptions
But how will a 2.0 sit in the 69, will I have problems in the installation?
I need to know this,

Do I have room for a twisted header like mark sells?
Help!

the 2.0 will fit just fine in the 1608 car. i know some will tell you that the distributor cap will hit the hood. myself i have never had that happen. you will need new motor mounts, the reason is the 2.0 is taller in the oil pan area too, the oil pan will hit the crossmenber if the mounts are old and have sagged . the header will fit fine, just be sure to purchase exhaust components for a 2.0 not a 1608.

don't you have one of my ignitions already? Using it will ensure no hood clearance issues and our header fits the engine/chassis combo perfectly

Its actually a 1438 car, but that makes no difference. They will all work. I've done it twice. If you install marks header, you wont want 2 liter exhaust parts in my opinion. You would want his full exhaust, or you would want to piece your own setup together. A stock 2 liter exhaust wont let those headers perform to their fullest, Just my opinion.
