Max Bhp out of 2L possible?

Post by ItsNotAnMG »

Hi all,

I know this is the age old question but I really havent heard anything definitive yet- Does anybody know the acheivable BHP range for a stock 2.0L short block with all the mods? I'm talking headers, dual carbs, oversized piston heads and valves, new seats and piston rods, port and polish a high performance head (a 1800cc one for more compression?)- Anything big I miss?

Also, I have only heard whispers at best about any aftermarket turbo kits and I know the OEM turbos were said to be less inspiring and more unreliable than anything. Does Anybody know of a legitamite aftermarket kit? I've also heard that Mark's supercharger in works too, which is rather excieting

Any Info is Helpful! Thank you!!

First you have to decide which route you want to go, naturally aspirated or forced induction. The build process is quite different for each respectively. My best guess is around 225hp naturally aspirated, and over 450hp with forced induction. The limits of reliability will be greatly stressed in the forced induction method. This is not factory parts though, aftermarket rods, pistons, wrist pins, valves, springs, cams and possibly crankshaft. This is a generic answer to a general question.
